Almond Shortbread Recipe

This almond shortbread recipe and chocolate espresso are still traditional recipes with a new twist. Almond Shortbread4 oz butter ¼ cup white flour 2 oz margarine ¾ cup almonds; flaked 8 oz brown sugar, soft 1 egg
Rub butter and margarine into the flour. Add sugar, beaten egg and almonds. Knead the mixture thoroughly. Form mixture into an oblong shape about two inches square at the end. Wrap in silver foil and leave in the refrigerator over night. Cut into 1/8 inch thick slices using a serrated knife. Place on greased baking sheet and cook for 10 to 15 minutes at 350º F.
1½ cups flour ½ tsp baking soda ½ tsp salt ¼ tsp nutmeg ¼ tsp cinnamon ¾ cup butter ½ cup brown sugar ½ cup white sugar 1 egg 1 cup mashed banana 1¾ cups rolled oats ½ cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 357º F. Mix flour, soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Cream margarine and sugars. Beat in egg, add mashed banana and then dry ingredients. Drop on ungreased sheets, bake 10 minutes at 350º or until lightly browned.
